REFLECTION

EXPERIENCES

Throughout this semester, I experienced different ways of expressing typography. For instance, we learned to write calligraphic alphabets in a chosen typeface. It was cool and enjoyable when I started to practice the calligraphy. And throughout the exercises and projects, we learn to explore creating type expressions for certain words and animate them into a GIF. I get to know more software and the tools in there that I have never used before like Adobe In Design. It can be useful for me if I need to use it for my other assignments or when I am working.

OBSERVATIONS

Overall, this module has made me seen my weaknesses and strengths throughout my works in the exercises and projects. I observe that I was weak at doing motion graphics or animation part of the works I did. Throughout the 14 weeks of class, I saw how each of us have distinctive style in designing whether it is on exercises or projects. Furthermore, when I saw some of our seniors' work, it gave me inspirations and ideas when I am stuck or confused on what to do.

FINDINGS

In this module, I found out the history side of Typography and how each typeface is designed in their own way. And also from the eBooks I read for my further readings, I found out more information and examples of the techniques used when dealing with Typography. I found out that getting inspirations and research from other designers' work helps me to improve in my knowledge and skills when proceeding to my assignments. And most importantly, getting feedback from our lecturers, Mr.Vinod and Mr.Shamsul has helped me push myself further in my creativity and knowing what are their views in interpreting typography.
